
In accordance with the year plan approved by the “Facilitation and Security Committee” at the beginning of this year, Macau International Airport (MIA) conducted an exercise of “Communicable Diseases Response 2009” from 04:30 to 07:30 on 20 May.
The exercise simulated a suspected communicable diseases case found on the aircraft in order to test, evaluate and reinforce the capability of the participants in dealing with the emergency plans. Meeting was held in evaluating the exercise afterwards and satisfactory result was reported on implementing the emergency preparedness plan.
The exercise, coordinated by the Health Bureau of Macao Special Administrative Region, involved the participation of Unitary Police Service, Customs of Macao Special Administrative Region, Public Security Police Force, Judiciary Police, Fire Services Bureau, Civil Aviation Authority, CAM-Macau International Airport Company Ltd., ADA-Administration of Airports, Ltd., Macau Security Company Ltd., Air Macau Company Ltd., Menzies Macau Airport Services and so on
