Schematics for Expansion

The Macau International Airport Master Plan was approved by the Macao SAR Government in 2016, and the phased expansion of the airport was then included in the Five-Year Development Plan of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2016-2020). In 2017, the Macao SAR Government submitted to the Central Government for the approval on the land reclamation for the airport expansion. After soliciting the opinions of the ministries and the experts, the research studies were completed. With the support from the Central Government, the Macao SAR Government received the official approval document from the Central Government for the land reclamation project on 27 October 2022. The area of land reclamation is 129.6234 ha. The airport expansion and the related land reclamation will be executed in different phases according to the traffic demand.
