
The “59th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, Asia and Pacific Region” is held in Cebu, Philippines, from October 14 to 18, 2024. Organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), this annual event serves as an important platform for civil aviation leaders and representatives from international organizations in the Asia and Pacific Region to engage in dialogue. Delegates explore innovative strategies aimed at enhancing the safety, security, and efficiency of the aviation industry while achieving a more environmentally friendly and economically viable aviation sector. This year's theme is “Shaping the Future of Aviation: Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive” with key topics climate change mitigation strategies, promoting sustainable technological advancements, and strengthening frameworks for regional cooperation. The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR led a delegation to attend the 59th Conference and presented an Information Paper in Agenda Item: Aviation Safety” by sharing experiences in enforcing “the Macao SAR Civil Aviation Safety Programme” and implementing the latest improvement measures, as well as enhancing the development of safety management.
