Reply to media enquiry on the relief measures introduced to aviation   2021-03-23

The Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia outbreak has continued to bring negative impact on the world aviation market. The SAR Government expects that Macao’s aviation will take a considerable period of time to gradually recover. In 2020, the SAR Government extended the concession contract of Air Macau for three years; as one of the shareholders of Air Macau, the SAR Government introduced capital injection to the company. These measures were taken to ensure that the air operator can continue to provide stable flight services to the Macao residents and the visitors during the difficult times. Since the outset of the crisis, the SAR Government has imposed a number of relief measures to boost the economy and the tourism of Macao for the main purpose of helping all industries and the residents.
