In relation to a news report made by Oriental Daily, a Hong Kong media, on 16 January 2017 about Macau International Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has received a number of media enquiries on this subject. Considering that the news article might arouse media and public attention, the Authority takes the opportunity to clarify the report as follows:
AACM does not know the source of the news report and has never done any study or planning for the airport in relation to what was written in the news. The news report is not factual.
Macau International Airport has reported steady growth in both the aircraft movements and the passenger volume in recent years. The five airports in the Pearl River Delta Region have established the cooperation mechanism among themselves since some years ago agreeing to develop their businesses according to different positioning, aiming to collaborate with each other to reach a win-win situation. The five airports hold meetings on a regular basis for exchanges.
The renewal of the Macau International Airport Master Plan was concluded. The relevant information is uploaded onto AACM’s website at https://www.aacm.gov.mo/development.php?lg=eng.
